Healthy steps to ageing

Mid & East Antrim Agewell Partnership (MEAAP) is a local inter-agency-based partnership aimed at improving the lives of older people aged 60 years and over, living in the Ballymena, Larne & Carrickfergus areas.

Improving lives and connections

Men’s Shed Fermanagh is open to men aged 50+ with local members enjoying a range of activities including joinery, gardening, basket weaving and keep fit. Focusing on learning new skills, making new friends and having a bit of craic, the shed is the place to be if you live in the Devenish, Erne and Irvinestown area.

Supporting parents on physical & mental health

Down Right Brilliant is a parent led support group based in Newry working with children and young adults with Down Syndrome offering a Youth Club and Summer Scheme.

Taking control of health and wellbeing

Cloughfin Community Association (CCA) is a voluntary group founded in May 1987 to address isolation in the area following the closure of Cloughfin Primary School in 1977. Their motto is ‘Live the Life you Love’ and their work includes projects relating to health, sickness and relief of poverty.

Building and strengthening relationships

The Rural Health Partnership has 30 years of experience in working at grassroots levels in community development and health projects and has a good working knowledge of the issues for men in this local area.

BCPP -  a vital link

Women’s Tec and Pharmacist Kevin McDevitt from Crossin’s Chemist were the two partners in the 800th BCPP project. Women’s Tec provides nontraditional training courses to women such as carpentry and plumbing and has a great reputation for engaging women who are vulnerable and have experienced some level of crisis in their lives.

No one uses a pharmacy more than a mother in those first 1,000 days...

According to the National Childbirth Trust (NCT), the first 1,000 days of a child’s life are the most important.  NCT is the UK’s largest charity of parents providing information and support during pregnancy, childbirth and early parenthood.
