CDHN launches ‘Common Ground Leadership Programme’ with support from NIO Connect Fund

Community Development and Health Network (CDHN) is proud to announce the launch of the Common Ground Leadership Programme, a bold new initiative designed to strengthen leadership in community development and health equity across Northern Ireland and Scotland.
This exciting programme is funded by the Northern Ireland Office through the Connect Fund and delivered in partnership with the Scottish Community Development Centre (SCDC) through CHEX their Community Health Exchange.
It brings together community leaders from both regions to explore shared challenges, exchange ideas, and co-create solutions that promote inclusive and equitable futures.
What is Common Ground?
Common Ground is a cross-border leadership exchange that offers participants the opportunity to:
- Build lasting connections with peers across Northern Ireland and Scotland
- Learn from successful models of community-led health and development
- Contribute to shaping inclusive, equitable futures
- Be part of a growing movement for change
Programme Activities
Participants will engage in a series of dynamic activities, including:
- Networking Event in Belfast (10th December 2025)
- Roundtable Discussion (10th December 2025)
- Leadership Exchange Visit to Glasgow (two nights, March 2026)
- Two Online Dialogue Groups (dates to be confirmed)
All participation costs are fully covered, making this a free leadership opportunity for those selected.
Who Should Apply?
The programme is open to individuals with experience in community development and health, particularly:
- Project workers and managers in the VCSE and statutory sectors
- Volunteers involved at a strategic level within their organisations
