Health Literacy Training for people who work/volunteer in communities (24/11) FULLY BOOKED - Waiting List available

This 3-hour facilitated online training programme aims to improve health literacy understanding and skills for those supporting people in the community.

Participants will learn more about what health literacy is, how to navigate the health care system, the community pharmacy offering and how to self-care. Participants will be signposted to trusted sources of reliable health information on a range of topics including COVID-19 and will develop skills so they can identify fake news and misinformation.

Learning Outcomes:

1. Increased understanding of health literacy and why it is important

2. Increased understanding of health and social care services including community pharmacy and knowledge of choosing the right service at the right time

3. Increased awareness on where to access reliable sources of health information and how to identify misinformation and fake news

The training is open to anyone who works or volunteers in a community setting supporting people with their health and/or social issues. The programme will be interactive and participative with use of breakout rooms and Zoom polls. There will be limited places and booking is essential.
