Lekan Ojo-Okiji Abasi

Lekan has been a Community development worker for over 20 years in the greater Belfast area. He is a Bilingual Professional Counsellor, founding member and Clinical Co-ordinator of Counselling All Nations Services (CANS), working with individuals and cultural leaders from BAME and Migrant communities, including Refugees and Asylum Seekers, who experience the stresses of cultural assimilation, discrimination, and trauma. Lekan is also actively engaged in the Belfast City Council citywide Mental Health Community of Interest Group, proactively lobbying and engaging on issues impacting on BAME communities.
