The Community Development and Health Network (CDHN) is Northern Ireland’s leading organisation working to empower communities and tackle health inequalities using community development.

Welcome to Chinedu…

CDHN is delighted to be hosting Chinedu Udeh, a student from the Gibson Institute at Queen’s University Belfast studying Leadership for Sustainable Development.

Joanne Morgan, Director, said ‘As an organisation, we have much to offer students undertaking undergraduate or postgraduate studies. We provide a range of experiences from learning how we administer funding to spending time with groups we support out in communities. In return, we benefit greatly from having an extra pair of hands to undertake small or short term projects and students often bring a different perspective to our work.’

Chinedu told us ’The experience so far has been very interesting – I’ve been out and about attending Building Community-Pharmacy programme events and focus group meetings.  As a placement student with CDHN, I have experienced diverse approaches and strategies in supporting communities to end health inequalities.’

He continued ‘Going forward, I would like to take this learning back to my home country of Nigeria. The CDHN team have been so encouraging and I will not forget this experience when I return home.’
