Community Leader Training - Health Literacy

This is a free, interactive and activity based one-day training programme which aims to improve health literacy understanding and skills for community leaders with a focus on increasing self-care for minor ailments. 

Who is the Community Leader training for?

It is open to anyone who works or volunteers in a community setting to support people with their health and/or social factors that influence their health.  This includes staff and volunteers in voluntary organisations, community groups, councils, health and social care and Government agencies.     

Learning Outcomes

  • Increased understanding of health literacy 
  • Increased awareness of the impact of low health literacy on individuals' everyday lives and their ability to self-care
  • To gain knowledge and techniques that you can use in practice to help improve health literacy through your work

When will the training be delivered

The training has been delivered in BHSCT, WHSCT, NHSCT and SHSCT.  The next training session will take place in SEHSCT.  Please see below for details:

The training will be from 10am to 4pm, lunch and refreshments will be provided.
