Project summary
Creggan Education & Research Services (CERS) was established in 1995 with the objective of devleoping the historical, cultural and educational dimension of the various facilities of An Creagan Visitor Centre and the local environment. Some of the services on offer includes developing health, arts & cultural programs as well as educational resources for use by all in the community.
They have just completed a level one project and now wish to continue with the learning from this onto a level two. In the level two programme the focus will be on working with a group of people with a BMI of 25+. The sessions will take place over a 26 week period with the aim of working in partnership with the local pharmacist to increase awareness of ways to manage health and well-being. Connecting people with the pharmacy by working towards developing rural, sustainable healthy lifestyles should result in participants becoming health facilitators and ambassadors in their own communities.
