This workshop, hosted by Northern Ireland Environmental Link (NIEL), will explore the link between climate change and health. We will look at the impacts of changes in climate both locally and further afield, and at both the direct and indirect impacts. Flooding, drought, expanding survival areas of diseases and parasites, food shortages and increasing costs of food, increasing diseases aggravated by heat, even increasing levels of food poisoning; all are likely consequences of climate change which will impact upon us in NI. Are we ready to deal with these? What should we be doing now to ensure we can adapt?
